Relaunch of the Simplicity Living Circle: A New Chapter in Intentional Living
On Saturday, November 2nd, the Simplicity Living Study Circle of Northern Virginia gathered under the vibrant canopy of autumn leaves at Lacey Woods Park in Arlington, marking the official relaunch of the free, community-based group. Co-hosted by Reiki Master and Healer Nikki Zalesac of Rain Walker Healing and Simplicity Living Coach Dani Keating, the group is set on a refreshed course of experiential learning and hands-on group coaching sessions, where each gathering will guide participants closer to their personal vision of a simpler, more intentional life.
The first meeting kicked off with a “Minute to Arrive" micropractice, followed by participant introductions, inviting everyone to share a bit about themselves, their personal journey toward simplicity, and what they hope to experience through our group. Dani then led participants in a grounding 10-minute meditation, aptly named "Phoenix Rising." This meditation set the tone for the group’s rebirth, symbolizing a fresh start for those in attendance who are navigating life changes and seeking to reinvent themselves. The Phoenix Rising meditation resonated with the energy of the season and encouraged participants to release any complexities or old patterns that no longer served them.
Following the meditation, Dani introduced the group activity: “Honoring Your Yes and No.” Each participant began by reflecting on their top five priorities in life, taking a moment to put these values on paper. From there, everyone looked at their upcoming weekly commitments and examined how well they aligned with these core priorities. The exercise revealed some surprising insights, with participants experiencing significant "aha moments" as they noticed activities that had strayed from their values.
Through this exercise, members had the opportunity to share realizations and personal experiences, building a sense of trust and connection among the group. Each individual was encouraged to pinpoint one thing they wanted to let go of—something misaligned with their true priorities—and one new activity they wished to incorporate that would better support their goals.
As the meeting drew to a close, each participant shared an intention to carry forward into the upcoming week and month. This final step allowed us to commit to small, meaningful changes with the support of our community, embodying the heart of simplicity and intentionality.
The Simplicity Living Study Circle of Northern Virginia will continue to meet monthly, welcoming anyone ready to explore what a more intentional, mindful life could look like. For those seeking a space to reflect, connect, and grow, this community offers a nurturing environment under the guidance of Nikki and Dani. Join us as we journey together toward simplicity and purpose.
